Preferred Vendors

As I work on developing my website more, this is a section I fully intend to flesh out into a network of local community wedding vendors. At each wedding and event I shoot, I see a few familiar faces and meet some new ones! Being in the process of planning our wedding, I also have had the opportunity to establish a customer-based relationship with a few of the ones I have listed here and have nothing but outstanding things to say for the following:

Jimmy Gillis:
Musician

A one man band that will knock your socks off - Classic rock, country, he does it all! Opened for "the one and only" George Jones at Grand Ole Opry. He's guaranteed to get your guests moving!

The Music Machine: DJ

If you're looking for someone who's got the tuneage, look no further! John Summers will rock the house with his seamless flow into songs that match the moment.

Affairs with Flair: Planning, catering, event coordination

Phyllis won't do you wrong with her extensive knowledge of everything FUN...From food, to planning color schemes and innovative decorating ideas and new twists on old favorites...She's the one to call when you need some direction and to add that special "flair" to your wedding or event!

I hope this can make your planning process a little easier! Trust me when I say that you will not be disappointed by the services they provide!

This list can only GROW, so check back often!! If you'd like to be included and we've worked together in the past, please shoot me an email!

Sign of T-H-E Times...

T-H-E

When has one word meant so much? Rather, when has one word cost so much?! Apparently, FSU has hired a consulting firm to essentially tell them:

"Hey, you know...you've had "the" in your name all this time...Why not start using it now? The Florida State University - Has a ring to it, eh?!"

Okay - So I'm summarizing a bit - Fully story here

Because apparently the use of the word "the" is so staggeringly bold! Who would question THE Florida State University? Is there any other State university?! Of course, I don't know how much was actually spent on this...But coming from the same group of yuppies that decided HEY, let's spend $100,000 during one of the toughest economic periods of our lives to MOVE a 100 year old oak TREE from one side of the street to the OTHER side?!

What difference does it make how much they spent at this point? I just want to know who's putting the honey in their tea over at Westcott...

And don't get me started on FSU's "Important Announcements" email hotline! Basically a spam account set up to annoy the hell out of every FSU employee and student - Like I don't get enough crap email everyday...But sure as shit, I can memorize and recite to you the no-parking tow away zones during gameday.

So yesterday I get an email from FSU's Less Than Important Spannouncements account - And what does it say?

"Okay, campers, rise and shine. Don't forget your booties, because it's COLD out there today."

An email saying it's going to be cold tomorrow, so be sure to BUNDLE up! Oh...And we're not turning the heat up because we spent too much money on the the word "THE" and paid a bunch of garden gnomes to move some trees around, and don't bring any electric heaters, because if you leave them on over the weekend and your office burns down we're suing you!

I'm in a cynical mood today...

Cold Winter Days NOT Spent in Florida

Usually we at least have a cold WEEK...But lately it's been more like one semi-cold day thrown into a muggy and hot week. Here's to hoping things chill off a little more before the hot summer rolls back in.

Speaking of C-O-L-D...Meghan and I spent New Years 2009 up in the cabins in Cashiers, NC - Surprise, surprise...Our favorite haunt...Typically we're out hiking and seeing the sights - Me taking photos every 5 seconds...But this trip was a little different. We snuggled up by the fire and read, and read, and then read some more! A few photos were taken, and here's a sampling - More here.

What a ham...
