New Printing Options!

As most of you know, I typically recommend ordering your prints through my website vendor (SmugMug). And while I whole-heartedly still recommend them, if you're looking for that extra special "something," I've got just the thing for you:

White House Customer Colour

Not to be confused with the Obama White House, this is a printing company that deals exclusively with professional photographers and offers a much wider variety of paper finishes, textures, sizes and mounting options.

I can provide samples of their standard photo papers...I have to recommend the metallic finish! It's amazing, especially on black/whites.

So if you're thinking about going into 8x10 territory and beyond, ask me about the prices for some of these options - I promise you that the results will be well worth any additional money spent. But SmugMug is always my tried-and-true standby ;-)

Good Deed of the Day: Complete

I had a voicemail yesterday afternoon from an older woman who was trying to reach another department at FSU - She said it was called CREATE....Funny how often that happens to me - Our center is always getting mistaken for three or four other centers with similar names, so I act as receptionist and forward on their phone calls constantly....But this call was special from the rest.

Her name is Vera Nessen, she's 92 years old, and she plays the piano for special events just about everyday she says. She had a lot to offer this research project and she wasn't interested in the money!

I tried calling the number she said was listed in the paper, but it was dead...So I tried googling CREATE and FSU but not much came up. After I called and spoke with Vera I was able to get a little more information and found out they were affiliated with the FSU Psychology Department. Drilling down, a few phone calls later got me to a Dr. Neil Charness, who was more than happy to take down Vera's contact info and extended his thanks for providing him with it.

So who knows what'll come of all that...But it made me feel good and I just wanted to share it :-D

The DaSilva Family!
