Hello Moon...Hello 3:00 AM

It's 4:30 as a type this...Been up about 2 hours now...No coffee, cold weather, cold camera. But one COOL lunar eclipse!

I guess if I were really dedicated, I would have photographed every stage of the eclipse, but I decided to get a little sleep until the big finale came along. I've pieced together a collage of several shots against a starrier-than-usual sky. Individual images can be found here.

The Averett Family

Kelly Averett is a great friend, and she and her family were due for some portrait updates! Kelly recommended a beautiful new location, which is just minutes away from the Greenway...Feather Oaks Plantation! It was a gorgeous spot, and I think we got some great shots there...The full gallery can be found here.

Thanksgiving in the Mountains!

Meghan and I celebrated Thanksgiving this year with her family up in North Carolina! It was a great trip! I got to wear my shorts in 35 degree weather (a personal favorite) and the food was out of this world! I think we all had a blast and it certainly gave us a lot of prime examples of what to be grateful for.

Every now and then, when I'm cycling through my photos in-camera, I come across a set of images that really look better in motion - Just like one of those flip pad cartoons! I set out to get some shots of Whiteside on a really overcast day, and as I was setting up and preparing to shoot I noticed a patch of sunlight opening up. I was going to just wait for the sun to hide again, but figured I might as well snap a shot or two...As I watched the patch of light settle right over the mountain side, I suddenly got an idea and snapped off a continuous stream...You'll probably notice a little bumpiness in the image below...I didn't set out from the start with this sole purpose in mind, and I think I may have either bumped the tripod or made a slight adjustment between exposures.

And just for fun, the same concept applied to a warm and toasty fire :-)

Here are some of the non-moving variety! The rest can be found right here!

And last, but not least....Coming soon to the cook book aisles, it's:
